Groove Home — Privacy PolicyEffective date: May 25, 2026
Last updated: May 25, 2026The short versionGroove Home is a family chore app. A parent creates one account for the whole family; children don't have their own accounts. We collect only what's needed to run the app — the parent's email, the names, emoji and colors, and the chores, rewards, and chore photos you add, and a few technical basics. We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't track you or your children across other apps or websites. You can edit your information any time, and you can permanently delete your account and all of its data from inside the app.1. Who we areGroove Home ("Groove Home," "we," "us," or "our") is a mobile application operated by Product One, LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Groove Home iOS app.If you have questions, contact us at [email protected].2. Who uses the appGroove Home is designed to be set up and managed by a parent or guardian (an adult). The parent creates a single account for the family and adds profiles for their children. Children do not create accounts, do not sign in with an email, and do not provide any personal information to us. A parent or guardian sets up and controls the account; within the app, a child can personalize their own avatar (an emoji and color). The parent area of the app is protected by a PIN that the parent sets.3. Information we collectWe only collect information needed to provide the app. Specifically:Account information (provided by the parent):• Email address — used to create and sign in to the family account.
• Password — handled by our authentication provider and stored only in a securely hashed form. We never see or store your plain-text password.
• Parent PIN — a numeric code used to protect the parent area on the device. It is stored only in a securely hashed form and is never readable by the app.Family profile information (entered by the parent):• Display names, emoji avatars, and avatar colors for the parent and for each child the parent adds.
• Your family's time zone (detected from your device when you sign up, and editable in settings) — used so chores, streaks, and "today" are calculated correctly for where you live.Content you create in the app:• Chores — titles, descriptions, point values, and schedules.
• Rewards — names, descriptions, and point costs.
• Chore photos — an optional "reference photo" showing what a finished chore should look like, and an optional photo of a completed chore (for example, a tidied room) added as proof it's done. These show the chore or task — never the child.
• Activity records — chore completions and reward redemptions, including timestamps and the points earned or spent. What we do not collect:• We do not use analytics or tracking tools.
• We do not show advertising or use advertising identifiers.
• We do not collect your location, contacts, or browsing history.
• We do not use any third-party tracking SDKs.
• We do not collect payment information (the app has no purchases).
• We do not collect photos of children — chore photos show the task, not the child.4. How we use your informationWe use the information above only to:• Create and secure your family account and sign you in.
• Provide the core features — showing each child their chores, tracking completions, calculating points and streaks, and managing rewards.
• Store the photos and content you choose to add so they're available across your sessions.
• Keep the app working correctly and securely. We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any form of cross-app or cross-site tracking.5. Children's privacyWe take children's privacy seriously and have designed the app to minimize data about children:• Children do not have their own accounts and do not provide any personal information (such as an email address) to us.
• A child's profile — their name and starting avatar — is set up by the parent or guardian who owns and controls the account. Within the app a child can personalize their own avatar by choosing an emoji and color, but this is only a display preference, not personal information we collect.
• The app does not collect photos of children. The only photos in the app are of chores or tasks (for example, a tidied room), added as proof a chore is done.
• We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.
• The parent can edit or permanently delete any child's information at any time, and deleting the family account removes all of the child's information. If you believe we have inadvertently received personal information from a child other than through a parent's account, please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it.6. How your information is sharedWe do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We share information only in these limited ways:• Service provider. We use Supabase to provide the app's backend — the database, account authentication, and photo storage. Supabase stores your data on secure cloud servers on our behalf and may only process it to provide these services. (See Supabase's privacy practices.)
• Within your family. Information is visible to members of your own family account (for example, a parent and their children share the family's chores and rewards). Your data is never visible to other families or other users of the app.
• Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or others.7. Where your data is stored and how we protect itYour data is stored using Supabase's cloud infrastructure. We protect it with measures including:• Encryption in transit — all communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS.
• Hashed credentials — passwords and the parent PIN are stored only in securely hashed form.
• Family isolation — database security rules ensure each family can access only its own data, never another family's.No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard safeguards.8. How long we keep your dataWe keep your information for as long as your family account is active. When you delete your account (see below), we permanently delete your account and its associated data — including family profiles, chores, rewards, activity records, and chore photos.9. Your choices and rights• Edit your information — you can update names, avatars, chores, rewards, and settings at any time within the app.
• Delete your account — you can permanently delete your family account and all of its data from within the app, under Family Settings → Delete account. This action is immediate and cannot be undone.
• Access — because the app shows you all of your family's data directly, you can review your information at any time.Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA (for example, the right to access, correct, or delete your data). To exercise any of these, contact us at [email protected].10. Camera and photo permissionsIf you choose to add a photo, the app will ask your permission to use your device's camera and/or photo library. These permissions are used only to let you take or select a photo to attach to a chore. You can decline, and you can change these permissions at any time in your device's Settings.11. Changes to this policyWe may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Effective date" above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.12.
